Cellular Jail is one of the famous historical place in India. In the British time it was also known as Kalapani and all the prisoners were kept here as a punishment. Now this is a historical museum and many things here to see.

Built in between 1896 and 1906 by the British, the Cellular Jail was used to exile political prisoners during the struggle for India’s independence. Today it is a national memorial and is open for tourists.

Optional activities - swimming, trekking. The place is also famous for its 46 varieties of endemic birds, white spotted deer and seasonal orchids. This village has earned the name, Bird Island. Chidiya Tapu biological park, Chidiya Tapu Beach, and the Sylvan Sands and Munda Pahar beaches are the prime attractions. The beaches are a paradise for collectors of sea shells because different varieties of colorful shells.

Shaheed Dweep (Neil Island) is an Island in the Andaman Islands of India, located in Ritchie's Archipelago. It is apparently named after James George Smith Neil, a British soldier who had sternly dealt with the insurgents during the suppression of the 1857 Mutiny.

The settlers named the beaches after mythical characters of the epic Ramayana ( Bharatpur, Laxmanpur, Sitapur, Ramnagar etc.) The island, with its very relaxing vibes and long, deserted beaches is a place to chill out.

Anthropological Museum, simply the best museum in Port Blair, offers a profound and informative portrait of island's local community of tribes. These tribes are considered as one of the oldest in the world. Situated at the Middle Point in Port Blair, this museum is a historical delight and makes the tourists explore the life of Paleolithic Islanders.

Asia's biggest and oldest saw mill, Chatham Saw Mill, is situated at Chatham Island and is a popular tourist destination. The mill dates back to 1883 and was set up by the British.
Chatham Saw Mill also produces sawn timber and handles the production of 'Paduak' - Andaman's well known, premier wood.

Once the seat of British power and capital of these Islands, it stands now as a ruin of the bygone days with the old structures almost in debris. A small museum named ‘ Smrita’ holds photographs and other antiques of the Britishers relevant to these islands. A multimedia show (Sound and Light show) is coming up in Ross Islands soon.

North Bay Island is about an hour ferry ride away from Port Blair jetty (speed boat takes much less time) and is a lovely place to go for a day trip. What makes it even more tempting to visit is the wide array of water activities that one can enjoy.

Radhanagar is without a doubt the most famous beach in the Andaman Islands. Crowned as “Asia’s best beach” and “7th best beach in the world” by Time Magazine, this place sees a lot of tourists. It truly is an unforgettable curve of white sand with perfectly coloured blue waters, all lined by lush forest and palm tress. It is easy to enjoy this postcard perfect beach – lie down and marvel at the sunset, or go in for a quick swim.

From Baratang Island (Nilambur Jetty) Lime Stone Caves are half and hour boat ride through a wide creek which leads to nayadera jetty and further one and half km. walk through tropical forest. Limestone is a sedimentary rock formed at the bottom of the sea. It is formed by the compression over millions of years of the gradual deposits of many ingredients such as marine life, shells, skeletons and corals.

A mud volcano is created by natural gases emitted by decaying organic matter underground. As the mud is pushed upwards by the gas, it deposits and hardens above ground. As more mud oozes out and spills over the edge it grows in size, gradually forming what you can see today - a miniature volcano with a rich, creamy mud crater at the top.

It has a rich coral reef formation and amazing underwater marine life. One can reach Elephant beach by small cruise boat from Swaraj Dweep Jetty in about 40 minutes. By road one can go up to the Forest Camp which is 8 Kms from the Jetty towards Radhanagar side and from there by walk to the Elephant beach which will take another 40 minutes.
